4 FAB foodie Recipes for Football

We are all excited for the Super Bowl, but what should you make for the watch party?  Not all food is created equal and when it comes to getting a touchdown from your guests, getting the menu perfect is almost as important as watching the commercials.  We collected a few of our favorites for your last tailgate of the season and paired them with some fabulous wines.  Dip into your wine library and score with these combos!

Dry Rub Baby Back Ribs:

Why are these a great choice?  You can make them ahead of time and cut them into smaller segments to serve as more of a finger food or small plate.  Ribs are perfect for the sweet savory flavors you expect at a tale gate!  Try pairing served with any beverage of choice, but we prefer a nice rich red like our Gabrielle Collection Juxtaposition, Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley.  This signature wine is a delight for foodies- velvety yet elegantly balanced. It is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon & Syrah and works perfectly with a variety of dishes.

We love these paired with the Juxtaposition too!

Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers

jalapeno poppersSticking with our meaty theme for the day, we suggest this adaptation of a classic, the jalapeno popper.   Our version is filled with a creamy center and surrounded by crispy bacon.  Savory and just the right amount of spice!  Dip them in our creamy dip with just the right amount of citrus and hints of garlic to bring the flavor of the poppers out.  Serve with a Pietro Family Cellars Field Blend, California red wine for maximum flavor.  The Pietro Family Field Bend is and Old World style red wine of mixed red varietals grown together in a single vineyard, called a field blend.  It is the perfect combo!  If you have this in your library it is the perfect time to bring it out and celebrate!

Warm and Sumptuous Ricotta Dip

Not everyone wants to chew on meat for the Super Bowl, but our Warm and Sumptuous Ricotta Dip is the perfect side to bring to a party. It is just the right amount of cheesy goodness perfect for spreading on crostini or dipping veggies. We love it paired with our Pietro Family Cellars 2014 Pietro Family Cellars Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley wine. It is just the perfect match for a wine that has an ” The aromatics leap from the glass with notes of ripe pear, white peaches and lemon zest. The flavors echo the aromas with a deep texture.
