The Gabrielle Collection produces a collection of handcrafted Cabernet Sauvignons, which bring out the diverse personalities of the noble Cabernet grape through a specific point of view of Winemaker, Gabrielle Leonhard O’Connell: the artistic interpretation of the vintage, the varietal character and a sense of place to create artfully blended, food driven, and exquisitely balanced wines. Each wine has a unique name and label, which together embody Gabrielle’s philosophy of winemaking. In her series of Cabernet Sauvignons, Vertex symbolizes various elements merging to a single point, as do the varietals Gabrielle blends.

The Wine

Gabrielle searched for a daily wine to enjoy by the glass or with meals that was approachable in taste and price- yet intriguingly satisfying. She could not find it, so she made it! Multiple blind tasting by a panel of fellow wine lovers put Vertex in first place over other wines every time. It has become a favorite of many. A VERTICAL IN A GLASS! It is standard practice to save a few barrels of past vintages to blend into current vintages to offer complexity. Barrels from the 2016- 2018 vintages were blended to create this charming non-vintage.

Tasting Notes

Enjoy aromas of red and black fruits with bold yet elegant flavors of Bing cherry and wild blackberry with smooth dark chocolate. A stylish, sippable wine.

Vineyards

The wine contains fruit from the Gold Medal winning O’Connell Family Estate Vineyard in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley, and other Napa Valley and Green Valley vineyards.

Food Pairing

Pasta with red sauces, traditional and not so traditional pizza including wild mushroom, arugula and cheese; ribs, pork roast, hearty beef stew, chili, stews, pork belly, tamales, grilled vegetables.
