Pietro Family Cellars
2016 Tusca Red Wine, Napa County (a Super Tuscan Blend)

A century of wine tradition in every glass
PIETRO FAMILY CELLARS history began with grandfather Pietro, an immigrant from Calabria Italy. Grandson, Wayne O’Connell, Vintner, wanted to produce a new world Italian blend poplar in modern day Italy.
Varietal
50 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Sangiovese
The Wine
Tusca 2016 is a tribute to a fabulous vintage in Napa Valley reflecting elegance and balance.
Tasting Notes
A classic red Italian blend with rich red berry flavors of cranberry with firm minerality.
Vineyards
The Sangiovese was grown in Pope Valley- a region at approximately 800 foot elevation within Napa Valley. Typical daytime temperatures range into the 100s and nights dropping to the 50’s. The fruit achieves beautiful ripeness while maintaining great acidity resulting in wonderful balance- an ideal combination that reflects its Italian heritage. The estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the certified organic O’Connell Family Vineyards Creek Block, in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley. Its gravel and sand soil provides the structural backbone with well-defined fruit qualities. The Merlot is mountain fruit, grown on Mt Veeder.

Tusca is an excellent food wine- serve with osso bucco, pasta with Bolognese sauce, margarita pizza, veal parmesan, roasted meats, portabella mushrooms and roasted vegetables.
