Pietro Family Cellars Field Blend Red Wine Non Vintage
A century of wine tradition in every glass
PIETRO FAMILY CELLARS produces this classic Old World style red wine of mixed red varietals grown together in a single vineyard, called a field blend. In 1906, Grandfather Pietro took cutting from neighboring vineyards to start his estate vineyard. The varietal history is lost to us, but we fondly remember this great drinking wine served with many family meals. To carry this tradition forward, we offer our Field Blend. As Pietro’s varietals are unknown to us, we will never disclose the varietals that create this wine. Fun!
The grapes are grown in the great soils of the classic California growing regions of Napa Valley, Sonoma and Lake Country, plus a touch from the central Coast, resulting in a California designation.
Pietro never knew the varietals in his filed blend as it was only for the local community, so we do not release the varietals to carry on the family story. It’s fun to try to guess! But we will never tell. We blended multi-vintages to create an easy drinking with layers of complexity with very approachable tannins.
A friendly red blend with fresh red berry flavors and touch of spice.
Pietro took vine cuttings from neighboring vineyards to start his winery. The result was a field blend of red varietals. We recreated the blend flavor profile to carry forward his tradition to create a lively red wine.
