The Wine

Juxtaposition means relationship; side by side; combination- a perfect name for the food and wine experience, each enhancing the other. Gabrielle creates a signature wine to delight foodies- velvet in the mouth yet lively. Chefs have juxtaposed this wine with a broad range of dishes from fish to fowl to game meats.

Tasting Notes

The 2018 vintage was extremely expressive in all respects- from friendly aromatics of spice and red cherry; to highly complex and wild-flower and bramble berries flavors; to a finish that won’t quit. These are hallmarks of Gabrielle Collection Cabernets, but especially pronounced in the 2018 vintage. Always a favorite among Gabrielle Collection Cabernets!

Vineyards

The Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested in October from the certified organic O’Connell Family Estate Vineyard Creek Block, located in Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley. The grapes offer beautiful structure, depth, richness and longevity due to the sand and gravel soils.

Food Pairing

The Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah blend is so food friendly- from meat to sea to fowl. Try grilled salmon rubbed with GC Culinary Fish Rub, game meats, ribs, fowl and duck with Meat Rub, grilled vegetables, and holiday turkey with all the fixings. And it is great to just sip!
