100% Cabernet Sauvignon
EQUILATERAL expresses the balanced triangle of the wine experience: beautiful aromas...a rich mid-palette of complex fruitiness playing against elegantly structured tannins...a lingering finish. The perfect triangle- Equilateral- symbolizes Gabrielle ideal. Another textbook growing season with ideal spring bud break, steady flowering, even fruit set, warm days, cool nights during summer and a nice crop size. The rains held off until the grapes found optimal ripeness and exceptional quality.
A classic Cabernet Sauvignon from a textbook perfect growing season. The 2016 vintage is a friendly yet intriguing with bright red fruit aromatics, dramatic dark chocolate, spice and orange peel flavors and a lovely long finish with approachable tannins. All perfectly integrated due to extended French oak aging.
Select barrels from the Yountville vineyard blended with select certified organic Cabernet Sauvignon O’Connell Family Vineyard Estate barrels. The cooler climate of the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley and Yountville appellations allowed slower ripening to express its complex structure, while retaining great acidity- Gabrielle’s preference, for a wine that respects food.
Great with prime rib, finished with Culinary Lavender Tellicherry Pepper and Cabernet Butter; grilled Portobello mushrooms.
Barrel aged in new and once used medium toast French Oak for 34 months
Drinkable immediately, but age worthy 20+ years with good cellar conditions.
