Pietro Family Cellars
Cabernet Sauvignon, North Coast 2010

A century of wine tradition in every glass
SOLD OUT
PIETRO FAMILY CELLARS produces a classic Old World style Cabernet Sauvignon with firm structure that has roots in the terroir, made with minimal manipulation. Following the heritage that Pietro represents to our family, our Cabernet Sauvignon is grown in the great soils of the classic, historic California Cabernet Sauvignon growing regions: Napa Valley and Lake Country, resulting in a North Coast designation.
We brought back an old world tradition of blending a little Syrah into our wine as was historically done in Bordeaux.
Varietal
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Syrah
The Wine
The vintage year of 2010 had a cooler growing season resulting in approachable, elegant wines with a firm structure, reminiscent of a Bordeaux vintage.
Tasting Notes
Sophisticated dark fruit and blackberry aromas are followed by carefully unfolding layers of blueberries, wild blackberries, a touch of tobacco leaf and leather with earthy minerality. This beautifully structured wine is a wonderful food wine that complements many dishes. The tannins are well integrated, making the wine very approachable.
Vineyards
The grapes are grown in Sonoma Valley, Lake County and Napa Valley. Lake County is one of the oldest California wine growing areas (15 miles from Napa Valley) with vineyards of deep volcanic soils and elevations ranging from 1300-1700 feet resulting in great acidity and rich flavors.
Food Pairing
A great wine for everyday sipping and casual dinners. Try with a juicy burger, grilled tri-tip, herb roasted chicken, cassoulet and lasagna.
