A century of wine tradition in every glass

PIETRO FAMILY CELLARS produces a classic Old World style Cabernet Sauvignon with firm structure that has roots in the terroir, made with minimal manipulation. Following the heritage that Pietro represents to our family, our Cabernet Sauvignon is grown in the great soils of the classic, historic California Cabernet Sauvignon growing regions: Napa Valley and Lake Country, resulting in a North Coast designation.

The Wine

The vintage year of 2005 was noteworthy for the balance and smoothness of the wines.

Tasting Notes

The firm tannins originating from lean Lake County soils create the perfect backbone for the fruitiness of Napa Valley. Together they created a wine of joyous complexity with rich texture and blackberry, ripe cherry and tobacco leaf flavors and aromas. These tannins are soft, making the wine very approachable. So delicious!

The grapes are grown in Sonoma Valley, Lake County and Napa Valley. Lake County is one of the oldest California wine growing areas (15 miles from Napa Valley) with vineyards of deep volcanic soils and elevations ranging from 1300-1700 feet resulting in great acidity and crisp rich flavors.

Food Pairing

The addition of Syrah makes a friendly Cabernet, ideal for sipping. Pair with any grilled red meats, vegetables, pastas and roasted chicken.
