Sauvignon Blanc 2010

A century of wine tradition in every glass

MENDOCINO

A touch of Chardonnay added to the Sauvignon Blanc to soften the citrus flavor profile into a delightful crisp, yet elegant wine with a round texture.

Varietal

Sauvignon Blanc 97.5% Chardonnay 2.5%

The Wine

The 2010 vintage had a very cool growing season with early fall rains resulting in smaller yields, but crispy and juicy fruit. This growing season retained Sauvignon Blanc acidity, that waters the palette in anticipation of the next sip.

Tasting Notes

An engaging wine, that is crisp yet elegant, smooth yet intriguingly edgy. Its supple texture makes it easy to sip and a wonderful food wine.

Vineyards

Sauvignon Blanc grapes were grown in the historic, sustainably farmed award winning Jaxon Keys Vineyard in Mendocino AVA. Northern California cool evening fog preserves beautiful acidity and its warm days offer optimum ripening. The Chardonnay was grown in the cool climate Oak Knoll District, Napa Valley.

Food Pairing

Sip as an aperitif. Pair with fresh or BBQ oysters, fritto misto, sautéed trout and soft cheeses- a winery favorite is goat cheese rolled in crushed cashews.

Oak Program

Stainless steel fermented and held for 6 months, then blended with Chardonnay, that had been aged in only 30% new French Oak Barrels.
