A vintage of charm and captivating red berry expression
Rosé d’Été means Rosé of the summer – a refreshing wine that embodies the moments and memories of warm summer days. Enjoy light-hearted but dramatic layered flavors of red berry fruitiness. The grapes were processed completely dedicated to making Rosé with skin contact for only a few days. The 2018 vintage had an unusual number of heat days in early summer but ended with a cooler fall, keeping sugars low but evenly ripening the fruit. This translated to perfection! The aromatics and flavors are amazing! We are so happy to offer Rosé again after our 2017 vintage loss due to the Napa Valley fires. A great time to celebrate!
100% Cabernet Sauvignon, 100% Estate Grown O’Connell Family Vineyards
This was another year that created beautifully structured wines.
This dramatic Rosé has expressive strawberry aromatics followed cranberry and thyme flavors. For the first time, we added a touch of Merlot- a great decision!
The 2018 Rosé d’Été is a blend of O’Connell Family Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley, and Koller Family Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, Yountville. We harvested in late October and early November. These appellations benefit from the cool down effect of late morning fog from the San Francisco Bay. The result is crisp acidity. Warm daytime temperatures slowly ripen the fruit for layers of red fruit deliciousness.
A refreshing aperitif to sip alone. Pair with hard cheeses accented with dried fruits; grilled salmon, seared scallops and salads with lemon olive oil vinaigrette. See our Foodie recipes for inspirations.
100% stainless steel.
Drinkable NOW. Lovely to drink for 2-3 years because it is Cabernet!
